If you thought only dioceses and parishes could build Digital Cathedrals, think again.
The entire Catholic world needs Digital Cathedrals. Non-profits, schools, universities, initiatives, and even Catholic for-profit businesses.
What Is a Digital Cathedral?
For the Catholic world, a Digital Cathedral is an online ecosystem, including web, social, email, apps, etc., that strengthens its core base of believers while simultaneously attracting new people to in-person communion with each other and Christ.
STOP! This is extremely important. Digital metrics are not enough. Digital engagement is not enough. Digital beginnings must result in real-world actions. This is the true measure of success.
ATTENTION! Digital beginnings resulting in-person relationships. The real-world impact is the true measure of success.
We’re NOT talking about a literal building made of pixels in Minecraft, Roblox, or the metaverse. These will not replace real-life cathedrals. They will fill them.
These are tapestries of meaningful content where vice meets virtue, pain meets healing, and secularization meets evangelization.
In 2026 we’re highlighting parishes, dioceses, foundations, education, initiatives, non-profits, and even for-profit Catholic businesses that are building Digital Cathedrals.
Let’s talk about The Catholic Gentleman.
How Is The Catholic Gentleman Building a Digital Cathedral?
The Website

Relatively speaking this is one of the older Catholic initiatives started amongst the laity.
I say that because it’s can be difficult to imagine when Catholic content was sparse on the internet. But there was a time. Catholic Gentleman goes back to 2013 and the idea to create counter measures to the dilution and demasculinizing happening in the Western World.
Be a Man. Be a Saint. The Catholic Gentleman set out to rekindle manliness and holiness.
That kind of mission needs a cathedral, and they have built one that towers in the digital landscape.
They’ve stayed true to their brand the last near decade and a half. They’ll be twenty come the 2000th anniversary of Christ’s passion, and they’ll have an impressive ecosystem to show for it.
The secret to their success is focus. Just as everything in a real cathedral works together to achieve a single purpose and create a cohesive experience, TCG keeps its efforts fixed on the physical, psychological, and spiritual health of men. It targets males of certain ages and with certain troubles in their lives and offers a mix of digital content pathways that lead to irl improvement.
Their biweekly blog and weekly podcast focus on issues men can easily relate to. They think like men, talk like men, dream like men, and are unashamed of the desired result. Content isn’t vague, full of platitudes, or resources that are more academic than helpful. A Digital Cathedral is made of real-life experiences, questions, and goals.
The audience can even join the architects and help build the cathedral with donation options, subscriptions, and products. A Digital Cathedral is never a one-way street. Both organization and audience must be engaged to have a true relationship.
The Results?
TCG is a household name in the Catholic world.
With tools such as SpyFu and SimilarWeb, we estimate that over 40,000 visit the site monthly, and that’s just from organic sources such as browser and AI search, direct, and referrals. AhRefs measures the domain rating at 48 with over 12,000 backlinks from 3,000 websites.
The site ranks for over 7,000 keywords and… you guessed it… these are broad keywords that go far beyond niche Catholic lifestyles and devotions. We’re talking heavy hitters such as “avarice,” “gluttony,” “temperance,” “Saint Joseph,” “cardinal virtues,” as well as smaller keywords such as “ember days” and “latin mass.”
And, using AI visibility measurement tools, we see that TCG appears not only in queries about Catholicism, virtue, and spirituality, but mainstream queries such as advice for men, marriages, and dating.
The point is TCG’s top keywords are not branded or so unique that only 100 people type them in queries a month. These are searched tens of thousands of times by Catholic, Protestant, and nonbelievers alike.

A Digital Cathedral is not hidden. It is not small. It may have humble beginnings and humble means, but no house of God is meant for remote islands and under baskets.
These digital communities put out into the deep. They strive to evangelize. And you can only evangelize by leaving your comfort zone, your vocabulary, and your corner behind, venturing into the markets, squares, and hubs of the mainstream world. There to swim upstream and cause some trouble. 😉
Social Media
TCG doesn’t stop with website content. Its podcast has thousands of reviews and an estimated 30,000+ monthly listeners.
Remember, numbers don’t need to be gigantic. Size is not a criterion of Digital Cathedrals. Quality and impact matter more. There are plenty of giant things in this world causing harm or keeping humanity stuck.
TCG remains niche within the Catholic world. But its evangelization has transformed countless lives and that ripples far beyond the walls of its cathedral.
The Results?

There are 100,000 followers on Instagram where aspirational quotes and distinct black and white branding give simple reminders to scrolling users and earn thousands of engagements. Posts average 570 engagements and there have been over 75,000 engagements not including clicks and views over the last year. Reels catch attention and carousels tell stories.
On Facebook, TCG has cultivated a gathering of 150,000 fans with content that reaches into their souls with challenging and pragmatic content built on deep anthropology and theology.
Where men are, TCG goes.
As many as 90% of men under 39 are using YouTube regularly. And they spend over an hour consistently every time they log in.
60%+ of X users are male, and 25-34-year-olds represent a key block, with analyses putting them at 38% of all users.
Channels that are often left out of the mix, underengaged, or used as depositories, like X or YouTube, are alive with activity for TCG because of the intense focus on overcoming the obstacles of a well-defined persona.
Why Are We Calling The Catholic Gentleman a Digital Cathedral?
Digital Cathedrals can be built by an initiative, a small non-profit, a diocese, a school, or even a business. The Catholic Gentleman knows its audience and has not deviated from it.
And so its cathedral is built for men. A community for them. A place to deliberate. Be challenged. Grow. Learn. Man up.
Digital Cathedrals must be valuable, beautiful, and purposeful.
Men find value, immense value, in the TCG community. Here they can be intellectually stimulated, emotionally supported, and give a pathway to finding brotherhood.
Here they can learn to slay dragons.
That is the beauty. With so many men suffering in modern culture, a place for them to grow in masculinity and holiness is desperately needed if cultural crises are to be reversed.
And here we find the purpose of the Digital Cathedral. To be better men.
A Digital Cathedral stands out online. It’s relatable and aspirational. It is easy to walk into and simultaneously calls us to more.
The Catholic Gentleman’s Key Performance Indicators
The three KPIs of a Digital Cathedral are invitation, innovation, and participation.
- Invitational: Everything TCG does for its audience is invitational. Events, devotions, practices, routines, structures, battle plans. Every piece of digital content is geared toward a real life improvement, be it work-related, spousal, raising children, spiritual life, physical fitness, communal, or emotional.
- Innovative: TCG keeps its presence relatively simple. It optimizes for what men are seeking and searching. It invites guests whom its audience will respect. It creates content that appeals to the audience’s tastes, needs, and preferences, while never conforming to desires that are backwards.
- Participatory: Countless men have become better citizens of their communities, better husbands, fathers, brothers, co-workers, and leaders due to TCG’s efforts. Testimonials from listeners describe stronger marriages, deeper prayer, and freedom from addictions. Enough said.
A Digital Cathedral can only be called a Digital Cathedral if there are real-world results. Popularizing a return to piety as well as rejuvenating respect for mental health, etiquette, discipline, craftsmanship, and family amongst men more than qualifies TCG.
Why Is Building a Digital Cathedral Important?
Digital Cathedrals begin online and end offline.
We are not interested in vanity metrics. Billions of impressions, likes, even shares, and leads mean nothing without real life being positively impacted.
The Digital Cathedral, intentionally well built, is hard to miss. It not only draws awareness, but it draws people in, as the medieval cathedrals of old did.
They must be built with the same care, skill, and attention to detail.
It refutes the world’s emphasis on addictive scrolling and moneymaking and cultivates in-person relationships by using the tools where touchpoints happen.
Across the Catholic world, organizations and businesses need to put audience first and keep it that way. Think from the perspective of what is obstructing value, beauty, and purpose in someone’s life, and what do I offer to remove that obstacle so that audiences can reach worthwhile goals.
“Renew your commitment to nourish Christian hope in social networks and online spaces.” (Pope Leo XIV, Address to Social Media Influencers)
